Goodbye Steve McNair

Regardless of what you think of Steve McNair as a person - and honestly I don't know much about him - he was a great QB. That's right I said G-R-E-A-T. He wasn't flashy, but for a while he was arguable the best QB in the league and in my eyes is a Hall of Famer. It wasn't just playing hurt. He started his career slow, and never put up super numbers, but he was a guy who made few stupid plays that hurt his team, and made enough good ones at key moments to win (5-5 in postseason, won 60% overall). He did have some talent around him, but the year he went to the SuperBowl his starting WRs were Kevin Dyson and Yancey Thigpen.

If you go look at his stats you won't see it, but being a quarterback is about more than stats and if you saw him play you understand.
